The Lord recently showed me a picture of His heart. It looked like a cavern; the kind of cavern that you would mine for diamonds in. The impression that was on my heart at the time was
Matthew 13:44-46 (NIV) The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
44“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
The hidden mysteries of the Lord’s heart are like treasures that are hidden and must be sought out. The Bible tells us to “seek the Kingdom” (Mt 6:33), to “seek and we shall find” (Mt 7:7)
You see, they are AVAILABLE to ALL but they are not just laying out on the ground for any Joe Schmoe to come by and flippantly pick them up. If they were just laying around then they would not be as precious stones and full of value. Think about a diamond for example, a diamond has it’s value because of the work and effort that is put into perfecting it. The ones that are more rare and full of more dimension go up in value. The Lord’s treasures are the same. The mysteries that are more valuable must be sought after with a pure heart.
I am not implying that we must “WORK” for the Lord to show you things but I do believe that we must “SEEK” out HIS heart.
How do we seek?
I believe being diligent in prayer, reading of the Word, filling our spirits with Godly teaching, and WORSHIP are great ways to do this. If we will humble ourselves before the Almighty God of our Salvation He will surely respond. After all, HE inhabits our praises. He loves to connect with us intimately but often times it is us who cut ourselves short of a wonderful revelation and blessing from the LORD simply because we just don’t give HIM the time that HE deserves and longs for.
Another piece of this revelation began to unfold as I began to realize that there are also hidden treasures inside each one of us in the Body. Each one of us “Seekers” have gone into the caverns of the Heart of our Father and dug out a treasure, a revelation, a truth. What you may have dug out might possibly be a different stone than what I dug out or maybe it was the stone right next to where my stone was found. What I mean is this, we each see in part and you may have a part that I don’t have and I may have a part you don’t have but if we come together and share with each other our parts then we see more of the Bigger picture.
I am ready to dig down into the caverns of His heart and find some treasures. Want to go digging with me?
